Multiple People Hurt in Crash Between IndyGo Bus and Car

The crash happened at State and New York around 9:45 a.m.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Several people were hospitalized Wednesday morning following a crash involving a car and an IndyGo Bus.

The accident happened at the intersection of North State Avenue and East New York Street around 9:45 a.m.

Metro Police say the car and bus were traveling through the intersection when they collided. Both vehicles left the road and the car flipped over onto its roof.

The cause of the accident remains unclear, but RTV6 says the drivers of both vehicles told police they had the green light.

IMPD told IndyStar that two people from the car and four IndyGo passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

This is a developing story. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
