Murder Under Investigation Near Downtown Indy

Indianapolis police are investigating what appears to be the murder of a man near the downtown area.

IMPD spokesman Rafael Diaz says someone called police after finding the man on the ground near Roosevelt Avenue and Valley Avenue just before 4:00am today.  Diaz says the man had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner's Office has not established the man's identity, and an autopsy is pending.  Diaz says anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).  Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
