New Home Permits Holding Their Own In Central Indiana

A new report out says home building permits are holding steady in Central Indiana.

The Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis says July permits are up slightly - about one percent - over July 2013.  There were 3,148 new, single family building home permits issued last month compared to 3,104 in July 2013.

They add confidence among builders is also up about four points and both are signs the housing market for the nine-county area is remaining stable and healthy.  They say permits issued last month created more than $563 million in local income, almost $128 million in local taxes and more than 9500 jobs year to date.
