New Weekend Restrictions On Broad Ripple Avenue

Avenue Will Close To Vehicles During Early Morning

Broad Ripple Avenue will be shut down from College to Guilford at midnight Friday and Saturday nights this summer, reopening at 4:00 a.m., to give police a handle on the crowds.  The mayor's spokesman, Marc Lotter, says it's an outgrowth of long-running discussions with the Broad Ripple Village Association.  It may not start this weekend with IMPD occupied with plans for Officer Renn's funeral.
