One Dead, One Injured After SUV Collides with Building

One person is dead and another injured after a crash Wednesday afternoon in Carmel.

Carmel Police say officers were called to 99 East 106th Street on a report of a vehicle into a building.  When they arrived, the officers found an SUV which had collided with a brick office building at the intersection of 106th and Pennsylvania Streets.

Police say it appears the SUV was heading southbound on Pennsylvania when the driver lost control and the SUV left the road.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.  A female passenger was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.  Police are withholding the names of the driver and passenger pending notification of family.
