One Killed, Another Injured in Hancock County Crash

The crash happened late Wednesday night.

FORTVILLE, Ind. -- One person is dead and another was airlifted after a two-vehicle crash in Hancock County Wednesday night. 

The crash happened on U.S. 36/SR 67 near West CR 900 North just after 9:30 p.m. Police say a man in his 70s was driving west on the highway when he crossed the center line for an unknown reason, striking an eastbound minivan.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released. The woman driving the minivan was taken to St. Vincent Hospital with serious injuries.  

Police also say that both the man and woman had to be extricated from the their vehicles. 

The crash is under investigation.
