The Speedway Trail Corridor, a new recreational area in the town of Speedway, has been dedicated in a ceremony led by Governor Mike Pence.

The governor called it a "signficant contribution" to the state's existing 3,000 miles of trails. Pence expressed hope to have a trail within 5 miles of every Hoosier. The state is already more than 90 percent of the way toward meeting that goal.
The Speedway Trail Association took title to the property in a transaction that closed in April. The Department of Natural Resources holds a conservation easement ensuring public access and permanent protection.
