IMPD has issued an alert for a man they say abducted his infant son early Saturday.

Nine month-old Kristian Averitte was last seen in the 3500 block of Star Magnolia Place.

Police say his father, 22 year-old Deandre Averitte, does not have custody of the boy, but took him from the home around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

Deandre Averitte is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 137 lbs. He is reportedly driving a 2004 silver Chevy Malibu, Indiana license plate WHJ 540.

Police are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to call 911.
