CLEVELAND, OH -- A retired Indianapolis Colts player is considering a run for Congress.

Cleveland.com says Anthony Gonzalez is thinking about running as a Republican to try and replace Ohio's 16th District Congressman Jim Renacci who is running for governor instead of re-election.

Gonzalez grew up in Cleveland and played three years at Ohio State before he was picked by the Colts in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2007.  He played for the Colts through the 2011 season before retiring in 2012.  Gonzalez spent the 2009 season on injured reserve after injuring his right knee during the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
