Rushville Pastor Facing Child Molestation Charges Now Charged with Trespassing
RUSH COUNTY, Ind. -- A Rushville pastor already at the center of a child molestation investigation has been arrested for trespassing.
72-year-old Garry Evans and his wife, 70-year-old Gay Evans, went to a home searching for a family member on Monday.
They confronted a woman who told police she asked the couple to leave the property, but they refused and demanded to speak to the person they were looking for.
The woman said she eventually chased the couple away from her property with a baseball bat and called the police. That was after the woman said she got her gun and Gay tried to take the gun away from her.
Police located Garry and Gay a short time later. Garry is charged with trespassing and his wife is charged with trespassing and resisting arrest after officers say she became “verbally abusive and physically resistant” during her arrest.
Garry Evans is at the center of a child molestation investigation after multiple young girls have come forward claiming he lured them into his office with candy and then touched them inappropriately or made them touch him.
