School Bus Driver Killed in Crash

No children on board

The driver of a school bus has died following a single-vehicle accident.  The Gibson County Sheriff's Department reports the bus was northbound on State Road 165 when the front right tire went off the roadway at County Road 700 South.  Deputies say the driver over-corrected the bus and cross both lanes of traffic and struck a tree on the west side of the roadway.  The Owensville-Montgomery Fire Department and other medical personnel were dispatched to the accident but were unable to save the life of the driver who died shortly after medical personnel arrived.  No children were on board when the accident occured before 11:00 Saturday morning.  (The school bus shown is for illustrative purposes only, and is not the one involved in the accident.)
