Semi Truck Chemical Fire Burns on I-65 in Seymour

The interstate was shut down in both directions.

SEYMOUR, Ind.--A wreck that shut down the southbound lanes of I-65 earlier today, has turned into a chemical fire that shut down all lanes of the interstate at SR250.

State Police Sgt. Steven Wheeles Tweeted that all houses within a half mile of the scene were evacuated.

Indiana State Trooper Seth Davidson told media there were at least four chemicals in the truck. The chemicals spilled and mixed and a large fire resulted, which fire departments on the scene were allowing to burn.
