South Side Crash on I-65 Leaves Indy Woman Dead

An Indianapolis woman is dead following a crash on Interstate 65 on the city's south side late Tuesday night.

Indiana State Police say the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on southbound I-65 near the I-465 interchange.  Investigators say a semi tractor and box trailer was stopped in a construction zone when it was struck from behind by a car driven by 37-year-old Suzanne Stocky.

Investigators say, for unknown reasons, Stocky failed to negotiate the stopped traffic when she drove into the rear of the trailer.  She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner's Office.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
