A traffic stop in Wayne County last Friday led to the seizure of 450 pounds of marijuana.

Indiana State Police say a Ford F250 utility bed pickup truck was stopped for speeding around 4:00 p.m. on southbound U-S 27 about six miles south of Richmond.  The state trooper became suspicious after talking to the occupants of the truck and a nearby Wayne County Sheriff's K-9 deputy came to assist.

The deputy's K-9 alerted the officers to the presence of narcotics and further investigation found 450 pounds of marijuana hidden in the truck in 25-pound plastic bundles.

The driver, 28-year-old Joe Caudillo, and his passenger, 21-year-old Israel Aguirre-Contreras, both of Greensburg, were arrested on felony charges of Dealing in Marijuana Over Ten Pounds.  They are being held in the Wayne County Jail.
