Suspect In An Indianapolis Double Murder Caught In Hammond

30-year-old Tywan James is charged with murder in the deaths of Martina Webb and Aliyah Igartua

INDIANAPOLIS -- A suspect in the double murder of two women found in a burned car last month has been caught in Hammond, Indiana.

Investigators say 30-year-old Tywan James is their main suspect in the murders of Martina Webb and Aliyah Igartua, who were found dead inside a burned car on the west side on Indianapolis shortly after midnight September 30th. An autopsy showed both women died from gunshot wounds to the head.

Prosecutors filed two formal charges of murder against James on Monday. He was apprehended in Hammond on Wednesday.

Indianapolis police says James is waiting to be extradited back to Marion County.
