The southern Indiana man accused of setting a fire in a New Albany home which killed three children and injured one other has been sentenced to prison.

Cody Cashion, 18, pleaded guilty to three counts of murder and one count of arson resulting in bodily injury.  He was sentenced in Floyd County Superior Court to 65 years in prison for each count of murder and 50 years for the arson charge.

The sentences for each count will be served concurrently.  Cashion will spend at least 32 years in prison.  The earliest date he could be released is August 9, 2046.

The charges stemmed from the incident January 4 where Cashion was accused of shooting a flare gun into the home which started the fatal fire.  Three other teens were charged with conspiracy to commit arson when it was found they were in the car when Cashion fired a flare gun into the home which started the fatal fire.
