TSA Pre-Check Hits Milestone

The Transportation Security Administration says their TSA Pre-Check program has hit a milestone.

Spokesman Mark Howell announced Wednesday that the registered air traveler program has reached 500,000 applicants.  Howell made the announcement at Indianapolis International Airport where the TSA opened its first Pre-Check office last December.  He says they now have 303 application centers across the U.S with 26 inside airports.  He says they're now getting about 3,500 applicants per day.

TSA Pre-Check allows air travelers to register some of their personal information and get expedited screening at airport security checkpoints.  Howell says it has resulted in shorter wait times.  He says Indianapolis alone has seen 15,000 applicants and about 80 per day since they kicked off the program.
