DELPHI, Ind.-- The Indiana State Police, Carroll County Sheriff's Department and Delphi Police Department said Tuesday afternoon that two bodies have been discovered in a rural area east of Delphi, but have yet to confirm if the bodies are those of the missing 13-year-olds.

Abigail "Abby" Williams and Liberty "Libby German", were last seen Monday afternoon when they were dropped off near an abandoned railroad bridge known as "Monon High Bridge" east of Delphi. The girls were supposed to go hiking and meet their ride back at the bridge at 5 p.m., but they never showed up.

A search team of local police, sheriff's deputies, firefighters, DNR officers and volunteers spread out across the area and searched for the remainder of the day Monday and into Tuesday.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Kim Riley told the media Tuesday afternoon that two bodies were found in Deer Creek, about 3/4 of a mile east of Delphi. He did not confirm if the bodies are those of the missing girls, but said that "foul play" is suspected.

The police investigation is ongoing.
