Two Brothers Drown In Northern Indiana

Conservation officers say Mahlon Martin, 13, and Kenneth Martin, 12, both drown in a muddy ditch near the small town of Argos.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – Two young brothers are dead after drowning in a ditch near the town of Argos.

The South Bend Tribune reports that Mahlon Martin, 13, and Kenneth Martin, 12, died Sunday when one of the brothers went into a muddy ditch about five-feet deep.

Investigators say a group of friends tried to pull one of the brothers out and that’s when the other brother fell in too.  Officers didn’t say which of the two brothers had fallen in first.  Both Mahlon and Kenneth were later pronounced dead.
