Two Men Injured, Cited in U.S. 40 Crash

Police think a blown tire may have caused the accident.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind--A crash on U.S. 40 injured two men Wednesday afternoon.

Indiana State Police say a white 2006 Ford pickup driven by Tyler Peters of Vincennes was going westbound on 40 while pulling a trailer with a mower.

The trailer began to weave causing Peters to lose control of the pickup and rollover. They think a blown tire may have caused the accident.

Peters and his passenger, Kenneth Smothers from Terre Haute, were taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Peters told medical personnel he had arm pain while Smothers complained of a leg injury.

Both men were cited for failing to wear their seatbelts.
