UPDATE: Gun Shots Fired Near Indianapolis Police Officers Have Led to the Arrest of 4 Teens

The shots were not specifically aimed at officers, but were close to where they were

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --Four 17-year-olds were arrested late Wednesday night after gun shots were fired near officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. They were arrested on suspicion of resisting law enforcement after they ran from officers. A firearm was found by detectives and they discovered it was stolen. The shots were not fired at the officers on purpose, but they were in close proximity to where they were. Detectives will meet with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office juvenile division to see if additional charges will be filed. Just after 11 pm, officers were in the parking lot of the North District in the 3100 block of East 30th street when shots rang out. That's when they set up a perimeter and began combing the area for suspects. 

Within minutes, they were able to apprehend the juveniles and they discovered evidence of gunfire. Due to the potential suspects being juveniles, their names will not be made available. No one was injured.
