Wayne Co. High School Principal Accused of Intimidation

Northeastern Wayne School Corporation has put Wes Wisner on administrative leave.

FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. -- The Northeastern Wayne School Corporation plans to cancel a high school principal’s teaching and administrative contracts amid accusations of insubordination and neglect of duty.

According to public records obtained by Call 6 Investigates, Northeastern High School Principal Wes Wisner is accused of using poor judgment with staff, fellow administrators and superiors.

“I have received several written complaints of situations where you made them feel unwelcome, unvalued and intimidated,” said Superintendent Laura Blessing in a September 29 notice to Wisner. “This behavior is not considered exercising good professional judgment.”

Blessing said Wisner belittled and intimidated classroom teachers to the point they felt scared to bring issues to him, and pointed out a recent meeting as an example.

“Your tone was rude and demeaning,” said Blessing. “The entire room felt uncomfortable, including a fellow administrator who began to cry because of your behavior.”

The superintendent said Wisner was insubordinate because he failed to communicate about serious issues such as safety, vandalism, union issues and staff discipline.

Wisner can request a private conference with Blessing as well as a meeting with the school board.

Wisner is suspended with pay pending a final decision by the school board.

Call 6 Investigates has reached out to Wisner for comment, and we have not yet heard back.
