Woman Dead After Shooting Outside Long's Bakery on Indy's West Side

IMPD: Not Clear if Woman was Targeted

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- A woman is dead after a shooting in front of Long's Bakery on W. 16th Street.

IMPD Captain Harold Turner says the shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. The woman was shot in her mid section and transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition, where she later died.

Police don't know if she was the intended target.

Homicide investigators are now trying to figure out what led up to the gunfire in the middle of the street.

Turner says it is unknown whether the shooting happened after an incident at the business across the street, Sunset Strip Gentleman's Club.
