Woman Killed in Apparent Accident at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino

A woman is dead after an apparent accident Friday evening at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville.

Shelbyville Police say officers were called to the horse barns at the race track around 6:30 p.m. on a report of an accident involving a truck and horse trailer.

An elderly husband and wife were attempting to hook their horse trailer onto their truck.  Police say it appears the husband was backing the truck into position with his wife assisting when she somehow became pinned between the truck and trailer.

The woman died as a result of her injuries.  Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the incident but the husband will be tested per standard procedure.
