Woman Shot Dead During Argument

Shot at point-blank range

No charges have been filed yet in a shooting in Indianapolis over night.  IMPD officers report a woman is dead and the man who allegedly shot her is in Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  As police tell it, they responded to a report of a disturbance between a man and a woman in the 64-hundred block of Park Central Drive at the Hoover Park Condominiums.  As officers arrived on the scene they saw the man shoot the woman at point-blank range, and then pointed his pistol at the police.  They fired at him, but he ran from the scene.  A short time later, officers heard another gunshot and found the man lying in a pool of blood behind the apartment building.  He was rushed to Eskenazi.
