Worker Dies At Deep Rock Tunnel Connector Job Site.

25-year old contract worker died between 3:00am and 4:00am
OSHA is among the agencies investigating after a contract worker for Citizens Energy died while working on the Deep Rock Tunnel Connector.

William Isaac Simpson, 25, died between 3:00am and 4:00am today about 250 feet below the ground roughly seven miles into the eight-mile long connector.  The cause of Simpson's death has not been released.  Sarah Holsapple with Citizens Energy says other workers were in the area where Simpson died, but are okay.

The Connector is the first of five tunnels to be built underground to capture the city's raw sewage that currently overflows into rivers during heavy rain.  The overall project is scheduled to be completed by 2025.
