Brown Relatives, Attorney Say Robbery Wouldn't Justify Shooting

(Ferguson, MO) -- The parents of the Ferguson, Missouri teenager killed by a police officer do not want stories of their son's past to distract from how and why he was killed. Ferguson police released video that appears to show Michael Brown stealing cigars from a store the day he was shot in the street. Brown's cousin Eric Davis says that should never had led to a fatal shooting.
Attorney for the family repeatedly stressed that nothing that happened in the 18 years before he died would justify Brown being gunned down with his hands up as witnesses have described. Brown's parents also expressed gratitude for the national outpouring of support including last night's moment of silence at the Gateway Arch.
