Earthquake Rocks Napa, CA; Over 170 Treated For Injuries

(Napa, CA) -- Hospital officials say at least 170 people have been treated for injuries after a magnitude 6.0 earthquake rocked Napa, California early today. Dozens of buildings have suffered extensive damage and four homes were destroyed by fire. Fire officials say three people were seriously injured. The largest quake to hit the area in 25 years struck at 3:20 a.m. local time and was centered about six miles south of Napa, which is in the heart of California's wine country. Utility officials says the quake knocked out power to thousands and broke dozens of water mains and gas lines.
Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency because of the damage done to critical infrastructure, homes and other buildings. A Napa city official says it could take a full week before the city is fully restored.
