Ford Recalls 1.4 Million Cars Because The Steering Wheel Can Come Off

The recall only affects certain Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs.

DETROIT -- Ford is recalling more than a million cars because the steering wheel can come off while driving.

Ford says a steering wheel bolt could loosen over time and cause the steering wheel to detach from the steering column. The automaker says it's aware of two accidents that may have been caused by the problem.

The recall covers Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs, both from model years 2014 - 2018.

Ford dealers will replace the bolt for free.
