Friend Of Accused Boston Bomber Guilty Of Obstruction
Jul. 21, 2014
(Boston, MA) -- A college friend of the Boston Marathon bombing suspect is guilty of obstruction of justice. A federal jury convicted Azamat Tazhayakov today after three days of deliberation. The 12-member panel agreed that he covered up for bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev by removing a laptop and backpack containing fireworks casings from a dorm room in the days following the April, 2013 attacks. Tazhayakov faces up to 25 years in prison. He's the first of three of Tsarnaev's friends to stand trial for hindering the investigation.
