Obama Orders More Military Personnel Into Iraq

(Washington, DC) -- President Obama is ordering more military personnel to Iraq to protect American interests there. The White House announced that around 350 additional troops will be deployed to protect American diplomats at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the move reinforces the President's commitment to do whatever is required to ensure the security of U.S. personnel and facilities around the world. The Pentagon said the move will bring the total number of military personnel providing diplomatic security in Iraq to about 820.
