Pentagon Confirms More Airstrikes Against ISIS

(Washington, DC) -- The Pentagon is confirming more U.S. airstrikes in Iraq. A U.S. drone hit an ISIS mortar position. When militants arrived at the scene of the strike, the area was hit again. There was also a strike against a stationary convoy near Erbil. Earlier, the Pentagon reported that an artillery position was hit in northern Iraq. President Obama authorized targeted airstrikes against ISIS militants to protect U.S. personnel and facilities. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said today the president "has not laid out a specific end date", explaining it will depend on the security situation there.
