Sean Spicer Resigns as White House Press Secretary

Fox News reports Spicer disagreed with President Trump's decision to appoint New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- White House press secretary Sean Spicer Spicer has resigned.

Fox News has confirmed the move and reports Spicer disagreed with President Trump's decision to appoint of New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director. The "New York Times" says Trump asked Spicer to stay on, but Mr. Spicer declined and told the President that he believed the appointment [of Scaramucci] was a "major mistake."

The White House has not yet released an official statement, but one is expected this afternoon.
