Sixteen States At High Risk For Quakes

(Undated) -- Earthquake experts say sixteen states are at high risk for damaging quakes over the next 50 years. In the west, they include the usual suspect, California, in addition to Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, and Nevada. In the eastern U.S., there are South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri, and Illinois. Alaska and Hawaii are on the list as well. The updated list from the U.S. Geological Survey gives emergency responders a way to plan for possible trouble.
