U.S. Military Conducts More Airstrikes In Iraq

(Washington, DC) -- The Pentagon is confirming another round of U.S. airstrikes against Islamist militants took place in northern Iraq Saturday. At least four airstrikes were successfully conducted against ISIS artillery sites to defend Iraqi civilians near Sinjar. Earlier, President Obama said humanitarian aid and limited airstrikes will continue, but that U.S. troops won't be headed to Iraq. Speaking at the White House, Obama warned Americans that tackling Iraq's insurgency will take time. The President said he authorized the limited airstrikes to protect U.S. personnel and facilities.
