White House: Sotloff Video Being Examined

(Washington, DC) -- The White House says U.S. officials are studying a new video that supposedly shows the beheading of American journalist Steven Sotloff . Presidential spokesman Josh Earnest said he could not confirm the authenticity of the purported video showing the brutal execution of the Florida journalist. Sotloff was kidnapped by Islamic militants in Syria last year. Captive U.S. journalist James Foley was beheaded by ISIS militants last month. Meantime, Earnest brushed off criticism that President Obama is being too cautious about the growing ISIS threat in Iraq and Syria. He called it "Monday morning quarterbacking."
