WHO Declares Ebola Outbreak International Health Emergency

(Geneva) -- The World Health Organization is declaring the Ebola outbreak an international health emergency. WHO Director-General Margaret Chan said the outbreak is moving faster than health officials can control it. Nearly one-thousand people in West Africa have died from Ebola. Nigeria became the third African nation Friday to declare a national emergency over the spread of the deadly virus. Ebola has no proven cure.
