Change in Virginia Voter ID Requirements
Aug. 07, 2014
(Richmond, VA) -- Virginians will be required to present a current photo ID or one that has expired within the past year to vote in future elections. The state's Board of Elections voted Wednesday to eliminate all other forms of identification at the ballot box. Republicans from the McDonnell administration still hold sway on the Board of Elections, and Democrats say their decision will disproportionately negatively impact minorities, the elderly, college students and the poor.
