A's 10-Year Lease Approved

(Oakland, CA) -- Extending their lease at the Coliseum likely guarantees that the A's will stay in Oakland for a minimum of four more years. The new ten-year lease deal, approved unanimously by the County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority on Wednesday, has an escape clause which allows the club to leave the Coliseum after the 2018 baseball season. If they do leave the venue, they will still need to pay rent through 2024 unless they play at another site in Oakland.
