IMS President Doug Boles on Race Day Security, Brickyard 400 Date Change

Boles says he can neither confirm nor deny whether Vice President Mike Pence will be attending this year's Indy 500.

Doug Boles, the President of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, talked with 93 WIBC to discuss security measures for the Indy 500, as well as NASCAR's decision to move the Brickyard 400 in 2018 from late July to early September.

Boles tells 93 WIBC that he cannot confirm a report from the Indianapolis Star that Vice President Mike Pence is likely to attend this year's Indy 500:

"We don't know if he's coming.  At some point in time, I guess if he's coming, they'll let us know.  I had a conversation with their office [Tuesday] and they said they're not prepared to announce anything yet, so at this point, we can't confirm, and at the same time, we can't even deny that he's coming.  We are just trying to figure out what's going to happen over time," said Boles.
