Ray Rice Accepted Into Intervention Program

(Atlantic City, NJ) -- Ravens running back Ray Rice is avoiding trial on an assault charge in New Jersey after he was accepted into an intervention program. Earlier this month, the NFL Pro Bowler pleaded not guilty to assaulting his then-fiancee at an Atlantic City casino. Prosecutors had offered Rice a plea deal that would have placed him on probation and required him to attend anger management counseling. Instead, he applied for the diversionary program for first time offenders that would clear charges against him. Rice still faces a possible NFL suspension.
