Stewart Will Not Race At MIS

(Brooklyn, MI) -- Tony Stewart will not race this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. Stewart-Haas Racing announced that Jeff Burton will drive Stewart's number-14 car in Sunday's Pure Michigan 400. Stewart did not take part in last Sunday's NASCAR race at Watkins Glen after hitting and killing driver Kevin Ward Jr. with his car in a dirt-track race the night before in upstate New York. Ward got out of his car and wandered onto the track to seemingly confront Stewart for running him into the wall. Ward's funeral was held today in New York. No criminal charges have been brought against Stewart.
