An Indiana educator is teaching his students at Lincoln High School in Vincennes about a day that many of them are too young to remember.
Listen:
Social Studies teacher Michael Hutchison was chosen to help roll out the 9-11 curriculum.
Hutchison says the plan includes seven different lessons, including assignments about the timeline. Students are also asked to analyze photos and create a 9-11 memorial.
Hutchison also assigned a more basic task for homework: to interview somebody older about September 11th and write an article based on their recollections. It's an assignment he hopes will decrease detachment about one of the darkest days in U.S. history.
