Governor Mitch Daniels joins Purdue University and the National League of Cities in promoting the importance of cultural diversity.
Daniels Monday opened the second, biannual Indiana Multiethnic Conference on the northside of Indianapolis, saying the integration of diverse ethnic groups is a requirement to build thriving Hoosier communities.
The conference was created to encourage municipalities to explore ways to make Indiana a more welcoming place for people from different backgrounds.
Speakers from the National League of Cities shared their experiences and tools to assist cities in developing stratgies to help make that happen.
