A Rush County teen is in custody and accused of murder following an early Wednesday morning shooting.
Indiana State Police say it happened around 6:00 a.m. just outside 306 North Oxford Street in Milroy.
They say 19-year-old Dylan VanSchoyck shot and killed his 22-year-old friend Jerran Chandler. Police aren't saying the type of weapon used, but neighbors say it was a rifle.
Friends and neighbors say they believe VanSchoyck was upset because the Chandler owed him $15. However, police aren't confirming that.
The two lived on the same block. Neighbors also say they're stunned by the incident because the two were considered very good friends.
Authorities apprehended VanSchoyck at his home at 502 North Oxford. He's being held in the Rush County Jail without bond.
The Rush County Coroner is conducting an autopsy on the victim Thursday.
