Hamilton Southeastern Star Speaks on Game-Winning Shot

The game-winning shot from a Central Indiana high school basketball game is getting mainstream attention.

Tuesday night's game between Hamilton Southeastern and North Central High Schools ended with Hamilton Southeastern Senior Guard Gary Harris hitting a last-second half-court shot (below) to give his team the win. Harris says he and his teammates actually practice those shots for fun.

"A lot of times before the game, the team, we come in, our first shots are just some half-court shots to get our arms like loosened up a little bit before we start taking game shots so I mean, it kind of paid off right there," Harris says.

Harris says when the ball left his hands, it felt good but he wasn't sure if it would go in. He says he had to turn his phone off after the game so he could get some sleep for school the next day because of all of the calls and text messages he was getting.

Harris has committed to play basketball for Michigan State University upon graduation.
