Victims in Fatal Knox County Crash Identified

The names of those killed in a fatal accident on U-S 41 near Oaktown Wednesday night have been released.

Knox Co. Sheriff Mike Morris says the driver has been identified as 21-year old Emma Lockard of Carlisle, who was three months pregnant. Her children 2-year old Anna Lee Hunt, 1-year old Noah Hunt, a cousin 17-yr old Laura Hall of Mt. Carmel, IL and a friend 17-year old Ronnie Mendoza of Carlisle were also killed.

Knox County Coroner Donnie Halter says autopsy results show all five victims died from smoke inhalation. Morris says last night's crash scene was one of the worst accidents he's ever witnessed.

\Investigators say Lockard was driving when she crossed the northbound lanes of the highway and through an intersection, slamming into the semi trailer. The driver of the semi was taken for a blood test and police say he was cleared of any substance use.
