The city of Vincennes welcomed the Wounded Warriors as they rode through town Monday afternoon.
The team of injured military service members began their cycling journey on May 28th in San Francisco and are expected to reach their final destination of Virginia Beach on July 28th. Organizers say the Sea to Shining Sea ride aims to honor the courage of the military and the strength of the American spirit.
Vincennes has a special connection to the group--as South Knox graduate Brianna Webb is traveling with the team as an intern. Webb says this has definitely been an adventure of a lifetime.
Veteran Bill Czyzewski was injured by a gunshot wound in Vietnam in 1970. His injury led to his left leg being amputated below his knee. Czyzewski says he is riding with the group to prove someone is disabled doesn't mean they are dead.
The group is also making a stop in Loogootee today (Monday). They plan on biking to Seymour on Tuesday before heading out of state.
