Downtown Rock Bottom Robbed

Police: Armed man left with $2,000

A man wearing an apron robbed the downtown Rock Bottom early Tuesday.

Metro police said someone let the armed man in a back door about 12:30 a.m..

The robber went straight to the office and demanded money while holding a manager at gunpoint.

Investigators said the robber ordered the manager to the floor and destroyed a telephone before bolting.

The restaurant near Washington and Illinois was closed at the time of the robbery.

No one was hurt.

The suspect, and a woman who may have helped him, got away with about $2,000.
