The swimming competitions of the 2012 Summer Olympics are over, but there's an opportunity to watch champion swimming events closer to home.

The U.S. Open Swimming Championships will run through Saturday at the IU Natatorium in downtown Indianapolis. Approximately 500 athletes around the world are particiapting. The event is a qualifying meet for next year's World University Games in Russia.

The Speedo Junior National Championships began Monday and includes approximately 1,000 of the country's top swimmers age 18 and under.
